our purpose

Equanimity Arts Foundation (EqAF) is a Sydney-based not-for-profit organisation. We  are dedicated to fostering an ecology of care, by facilitating the transformative power of creative arts therapies for those most in need of support. EqAF offers affordable, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed programs that support healing, resilience, empowerment and connection for individuals, communities and organisations. 

 

EqAF brings proven expertise in trauma-informed practice, strong governance, and a genuine commitment to community wellbeing.

Our work is grounded in the knowledge that facilitated creative expression is a powerful tool for healing, growth, improved mental health and wellbeing. It is our mission to make creative therapies available to all people in need of this therapeutic support.

our PROGRAMS

EqAF programs offer a safe, compassionate, and creative space for beneficiaries to process experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, and rebuild confidence through guided artmaking and peer connection.

 

EqAF’s programs promote:

  • Emotional healing and psychological recovery

  • Connection and belonging

  • Resilience and agency

  • Mental health support and wellbeing

  • Empowerment through creative expression

who we support

EqAF facilitates free or reduced cost counselling and creative therapies in one of two ways:

1. Direct application to EqAF where the beneficiary may need to provide evidence that they are a recipient of Australian government income support.

2. Pre-arranged client groups through partnerships with government and non-government organisations serving client populations in need.
